About the Role
We are seeking motivated and practical individuals to join our specialist marine coatings and insulation team at Devonport Dockyard. The successful candidates will initially be responsible for the safe removal of marine tiles and associated materials from naval vessels and marine structures. Following successful completion of training and demonstration of competence, operatives will have the opportunity to progress towards becoming qualified Marine Tile Applicators. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong hands-on background who are looking to develop specialist skills within the marine and defence sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove marine tiles, insulation materials, and associated components in accordance with work instructions and safety procedures.
- Prepare surfaces for future installation and refurbishment activities.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Carry out basic measurements, marking out, and material handling tasks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the work area.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet project schedules and production targets.
- Participate in training and development programmes leading to qualification as a Marine Tile Applicator.
- Support installation activities as skills and experience develop.
