We have an exciting new opportunity for a PLC/SCADA SOFTWARE TESTING ENGINEER to be based at our clients premises in West Cumbria:
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a PLC/SCADA Software Testing Engineer to join the team based out of our West Lakes Testing Facility.
About the Role:
Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements are on scope, time and cost are met.
Carry out testing of the PLC/SCADA code produced by others.
Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover.
Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
Recognise and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent.
Develop own engineering experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualification.
Skills, Knowledge and Special Attributes Needed for this Position:
Degree qualified in appropriate discipline.
PLC/SCADA knowledge.
Substantial relevant experience, typically at least 4 years of experience in relevant project design work, is required to fully perform the role.
Mobility and flexibility to work anywhere in home country.
Previous experience of working with existing Sellafield plants / brown field sites is important, but not essential. The candidate should, however, have previous experience in a similar role.
Can produce, check, and provide technical oversight of CE&I key deliverables documents / reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme and appropriate quality.
Able to deliver to relevant standards, codes and regulations.
Able to work collaboratively with other disciplines, stakeholders, and the wider project team.
Capable of producing and being accountable for their own effective time management, planning activities, task estimates and progress reporting.
Understands self-limitations and the value / importance of escalation as and when necessary, during the design process.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to interact with people at all levels.
Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL practices, standards, and engineering guides.
