Location: Warrington, Bristol, Leicester or Newbury (Hybrid working)

IR35: Inside

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: £51- £64 p/h Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Security Clearance Level: UK - SC (to develop into DV if needed)

The Process, Plant and Engineering (PP&E) programme incorporates a number of individual engineering projects, each of which requires input from Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP). The type, amount and level of experience of SQEP input required varies by project and will vary over time as projects move through the stages of a project lifecycle.
As a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor you will provide support to the management team in ensuring the safety, health, and environment protection of employees, contractors, and visitors ensuring compliance with Health and Safety management arrangements

Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role include assurance of compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as implementing policies and procedures to manage risks and hazards. Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor is required to collaborate with teams and stakeholders, to ensure that safety, health, and environmental considerations are integrated into all aspects of the programme activities. General responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety training programs, and conducting incident investigations. Support in developing, implementing, and managing strategies, policies, and practices to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks associated with relevant operations, processes, and activities.
The Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor role plays a critical role in ensuring that the company operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner. By managing risks, implementing effective policies and procedures, and conducting training and investigations, Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor helps to protect employees, the public, and the environment.

Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in order to solve complex problems with minimal guidance. May be required to take a new perspective on existing solutions based on best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues, and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Will impact across own team and closely related teams across a range of customer, operational or service activities. May act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, and is expected to explain complex, difficult and/or sensitive information. Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and standards. Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Ideal Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

• Have a proven track record preferably gained within a similar role in the Nuclear or other highly regulated high hazard industry.
• Industrial safety experience.
• Qualification in Science/Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Auditor qualification or experience.
• Minimum Tech IOSH and registered on appropriate CPD scheme.
• Good working knowledge and application of ISO14001, ISO45001.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
