Morson Edge is recruiting for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to support aircraft depth maintenance operations at RAF Valley. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced military aviation environment supporting the continued airworthiness and operational availability of aircraft used in advanced aircrew training.

Working as part of a highly skilled maintenance team, you will gain hands-on experience across aircraft inspections, fault diagnosis, rectification, repair, and functional testing activities within a safety-critical engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on aircraft systems, components, and assemblies
  • Carry out depth maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modification activities
  • Perform functional and system testing in accordance with approved procedures
  • Work to approved maintenance documentation and technical data
  • Ensure compliance with tooling, calibration, and test equipment control procedures
  • Support maintenance delivery in line with operational and programme requirements
  • Escalate technical or maintenance issues where appropriate
  • Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined aircraft maintenance team
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous practical engineering or aircraft maintenance experience
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively within a regulated and safety-critical environment
  • Confidence using Microsoft systems for maintenance reporting and record management
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • A proactive and safety-focused approach to maintenance activities
Qualifications & Experience
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally within Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2675 in Aeronautical Engineering & Maintenance, or NVQ Level 3 in a related aeronautical discipline
  • Relevant hands-on experience within an engineering or aircraft maintenance environment is advantageous
