We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join a high-performing Credit Control team within a nationally recognised business.

This role will see you taking ownership of a portfolio of client accounts, managing cash collection activity, resolving complex queries and supporting the wider Credit Control function in maintaining strong debtor performance.

You will play a key role in reducing debtor days, improving cash collection performance and ensuring excellent client relationships are maintained through proactive account management and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

The Role

  • Managing a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring effective credit control processes are followed.
  • Achieving monthly cash collection targets through proactive management of outstanding debt.
  • Monitoring daily cash receipts and ensuring accurate reporting information is maintained.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to support timely payment resolution.
  • Investigating and resolving invoice, billing and payment queries.
  • Processing credit notes following appropriate approval processes.
  • Providing guidance and support on more complex account queries where required.
  • Preparing and issuing monthly statements to clients.
  • Reconciling client accounts across both billed and unbilled debt, using Excel to identify outstanding balances and actions required.
  • Supporting improvements across the Credit Control function and contributing to effective team performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous Credit Control experience within a large organisation or high-volume environment.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of customer accounts and driving cash collection.
  • Strong understanding of debtor management and account reconciliations.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve complex queries.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both over the phone and via email.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Previous experience supporting junior team members or acting as a point of contact for more complex queries would be advantageous, but is not essential.
