The role is responsible for the availability, security, performance and resilience of critical systems, while providing technical leadership and working closely with senior stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong enterprise infrastructure and technical leadership experience, preferably within banking, financial services, trading or treasury. You will manage Windows and Linux servers, VMware vSphere 8+, and enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions including Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE and Veeam Recovery Orchestrator (VRO).

A key focus will be cybersecurity and infrastructure resilience, including endpoint security and encryption, DLP, SIEM, vulnerability management, security monitoring and patch management. Experience with Symantec, Splunk, Tenable and ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus will be advantageous.

You will provide advanced support across end-user computing, branch IT, meeting rooms, AV/conferencing and Microsoft 365, including Active Directory, Group Policy, NTFS permissions, OS deployment, software packaging, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.

The role will also support business-critical financial and enterprise applications, including Bloomberg FXT, Refinitiv Eikon, Murex Treasury, SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), 1AML, SIBS, GFMS and COP, as well as SFTP, replication and file synchronisation solutions. Experience within financial markets, treasury, payments or banking technology environments is highly desirable.

Strong networking experience is required, including Cisco switches and routers, FortiGate firewalls, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing and connectivity troubleshooting. Experience with OpenSSL and SSL/TLS certificate management, including CSRs, certificate chains and private keys, is also important. Knowledge of Paxton or similar physical security systems would be beneficial.

As a senior technology professional, you will contribute to IT governance, technical documentation, cybersecurity, GDPR, data privacy, business continuity and operational resilience, while identifying opportunities for automation, optimisation and infrastructure modernisation. You will also support audits, regulatory requirements and relevant FCA and PRA obligations.

The successful candidate should hold a relevant degree or professional qualification in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline, with a minimum of 7 years' enterprise infrastructure and systems administration experience. PMP, PRINCE2, CISSP, VCP, CCNA or Veeam VMCE certifications would be advantageous.

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to manage complex infrastructure environments and communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior management.
