  • 10+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, systems engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience managing complex enterprise IT environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • This is a hybrid IT Environment Manager role responsible for overseeing and maintaining enterprise IT environments across both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Oversee networks, servers, cloud platforms and associated security controls.
  • Deliver infrastructure upgrades, optimisation initiatives and migrations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), ensuring technology platforms and services are appropriately maintained.
  • Define and implement technical standards, policies and controls across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Ensure IT environments comply with applicable organisational security policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical input into architecture, solution design and technology strategy.
  • Review and approve supplier proposals, technical designs and solution architectures, ensuring design integrity and compliance with established standards.
  • Identify, assess and manage risks across IT technology assets.
  • Support improvements to system performance, resilience, lifecycle management and incident response.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Information Governance and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing technology transformation, modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the lifecycle of configuration items and associated infrastructure assets.
  • Ensure continued compliance with relevant cyber security and industry standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Act as an intelligent customer when managing third-party technology and service providers.

  • Broad technical expertise across enterprise infrastructure technologies, including: Windows Server, VMware, Storage solutions, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including enterprise networking, WAN connectivity and network security.
  • Experience working in an Infrastructure Manager or similar technical leadership role, preferably within an outsourced or multi-supplier IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT security, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix management environment and collaborate with internal teams and third-party MSPs.
  • Experience in infrastructure design, project management and technical project delivery.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements within highly regulated or security-conscious environments.
  • Ability to develop and implement solutions and risk mitigation controls for legacy IT environments.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle management and technology governance.
