We are seeking experienced Wiring Technicians to support production activities within a highly regulated defence manufacturing environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out wiring, cable assembly, harness manufacture and soldering activities to exacting quality standards. This is an initial contract running until 30 November 2026, with the potential for extension based on business requirements.
Essential Requirements
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or demonstrable experience working to IPC620 standards
- IPC-A-610 standard experience
- Wire harness assembly experience
- Experience working to IPC Class 1, Class 2 and/or Class 3 standards
- Strong soldering experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Eligible to undergo BPSS clearance
Desirable Requirements
- J-STD-001 certification or experience working to J Standard requirements
- Previous experience within defence, aerospace, marine, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain route cards for assigned manufacturing orders, ensuring documentation remains with the work at all times
- Follow approved work instructions and drawing packs unless authorised concessions or Production Permits are issued
- Carry out wiring, harness assembly, soldering, and associated corrective actions to the highest standards
- Ensure production systems and records are accurately maintained
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all work areas and equipment
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support efficient operations
- Support the resolution of shop-floor issues as directed by the Production Manager
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
Pay & Benefits
- £20.00 - £30.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Overtime opportunities may be available
Due to the sensitive nature of our clients' work, all candidates must be eligible to undergo and successfully complete: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance.
