The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Location: Govan/Scotstoun (Glasgow), United Kingdom

Salary & Shifts: Range of pay rates based on shift patterns, full breakdown below. Contract: 10 months (extensions available). Contracted hours: 37 hours (overtime available). Rate Card available on request.

Company: Morson partnered with a prestigious defence client (leader in the Defence and Security sector) in search for time served Welders.

Responsibilities:

  • Welding different materials (carbon & stainless steel & aluminium)
  • Welding using different welding processes (Manual Metal Arc, Metal Active Gas, Metal Inert Gas, Automatic & Semi‑Automatic Machine Welding (Submerged – Arc & KAT) & Resistance Welding (Stud Welding))
  • Welding butts and fillets to a high standard
  • Main process – FCAW / MAG – using ceramic tiles

Qualifications:

  • Full Engineering Modern Apprenticeship, trade papers
  • Flux core arc welding experience
  • Knowledge and experience in welding and use of associated equipment
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and/or at height
  • Safety certification (SHE Induction, COSHH Awareness, working at height etc.)
  • Background in marine, oil and gas, major construction / manufacturing environments
