We’re currently recruiting Pipefitters and Plumbers to join a major shipbuilding programme in Govan. This is a long‑term opportunity (12 months) with strong potential for extension, offering competitive pay and consistent work.

Pay Rates (PAYE)

  • Days – Local: £20.80 per hour
  • Days – Non‑local: £28.80 per hour
  • Nights – Local: £27.66 per hour
  • Nights – Non‑local: £35.66 per hour

The Role

  • Fabrication and installation of small and large bore pipe spools
  • Working both in the pipe shop and onboard vessels
  • Use of materials and fittings including flanges, elbows, T‑pieces, Blucher pipe, and Lokring couplings
  • Hand bending pipework (pulled and hydraulic methods)
  • Reading and interpreting technical/trade drawings
  • Strict adherence to SHE procedures, PPE, and RPE requirements

Requirements

  • Time‑served with recognised trade papers (essential)
  • Experience in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industry (preferred)
  • Strong, transferable pipefitting/plumbing skills
  • Plumbers must clearly detail pipe sizes, materials, and techniques on their CV
  • Ability to pass a trade test and security clearance
