Overview

Urenco Limited is looking for an Export Control Investigation and Audit Specialist. This job is grade F16. Based at our Paddington location you\’ll be responsible for leading export control investigations, audits, and governance to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing the import and export of dual-use goods, software, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage adherence to the Export Control compliance framework and associated policies by leading internal investigations, conducting compliance audits, and maintaining robust export control requirements.
  • Develop and lead audit assurance programs: Design, implement, and sustain a comprehensive audit and self-assurance program to verify ongoing compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements governing the import and export of dual-use goods, software, and technology.
  • Strengthen governance and risk management: Act as a key driver of export control governance, identifying risks, enforcing corrective actions, and ensuring alignment with the terms and conditions of the Urenco Group\\\’s export authorisations.
  • Lead export control investigations and management of associated outcomes e.g. corrective actions, record keeping, and communication with regulators.
  • Manage and deliver the internal export control compliance audit and self-assurance programmes.
  • Coordinate, prepare for, and represent the Urenco Group at all UK export control audits, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution of any issues identified.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement actions to address any issues arising out of export control audits.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal export control investigation and audit policies, procedures, and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Proactively monitor and keep up to date with licence regulations of all relevant countries, developments in the international export control regimes and communicate the implications of developments to the Urenco Group.
  • Liaise with other Urenco Group export control personnel, including site export control coordinators, project teams, Group Information Security, Personnel Security, and Head of Legal to understand the impact of export regulations on business operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience of leading investigations and audits.
  • Experience of designing and implementing a self-assurance audit programme.
  • Educated to degree level, or with the required experience detailed below.
  • Experience of working within the energy or nuclear sector is desirable.
  • Experience of working for a multi-national company is desirable.
