We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst / Business Analyst to support a major transformation programme by leading a critical data discovery and analysis workstream. This role will focus on establishing a single aggregated view of branch data, providing insight into current data quality challenges, identifying gaps and duplication, and defining the requirements needed to achieve the programme's target state. The successful candidate will combine strong technical data analysis expertise with excellent business analysis skills, enabling them to work independently, challenge assumptions, engage stakeholders, and provide recommendations that directly inform strategic business cases and future programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data discovery activities across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Define and document the current-state data landscape and how branch information is captured, stored and utilised.
  • Develop a single aggregated view of branch data across the organisation.
  • Analyze data quality issues, inconsistencies, duplication and gaps.
  • Identify root causes of data quality challenges and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Conduct current-state, gap and impact analysis to support future-state design.
  • Define business and data requirements required to achieve the target-state data model.
  • Collaborate with programme teams, SMEs and technical stakeholders to validate findings.
  • Challenge existing assumptions and data interpretations where appropriate.
  • Produce clear documentation, analysis outputs and recommendations suitable for senior stakeholders and business case development.
  • Present findings confidently to programme leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Support wider programme discovery and transformation activities as required.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or Data-Focused Business Analyst within large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience interrogating complex datasets.
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Strong data profiling, data quality and data governance experience.
  • Demonstrable experience performing current-state analysis, gap analysis and requirements definition.
  • Ability to identify trends, anomalies, duplication and quality issues within large datasets.
  • Experience producing clear and concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
