An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join a market‑leading engineering and services business during a significant period of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership, commercial insight, and robust governance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with senior leadership to develop and deliver the medium and long‑term growth strategy.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify key financial risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate action plans are in place.
  • Business Development & Transformation: Support business development initiatives, transformation projects, and operational improvements.
  • Financial Insight & Challenge: Provide financial insight to support strategic decision making.
  • Financial Performance & Control: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning activities; oversee production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting; deliver meaningful financial analysis and KPI reporting; ensure strong financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks are maintained.
  • Audit & Governance: Manage internal and external audit requirements.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team, building capability and succession plans; work closely with executive leadership and wider group stakeholders; foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial awareness; drive collaboration and best practice across finance and operational teams.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience within a commercial or operational environment.
  • Strong background in financial planning, reporting, controls, and business partnering.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting growth, transformation, and change initiatives.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
