Role: Finance Manager

Location: Corsham, Wiltshire

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate: Β£600 per day (inside IR35)

Working hours: 37.5 hrs per week

I'm recruiting for a Finance Manager to join my client within the MOD's Defence Digital function in Corsham on an initial 6-month contract.

The role will provide corporate finance support across planning, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, financial governance, investment appraisal and reporting.

You will also support the financial recharging of Digital Services to customer organisations.

Key Accountabilities of the Finance Manager

  • Delivering long-term financial planning submissions and the Annual Budgeting Cycle.
  • Managing in-year budgets and forecasts, including monthly submissions and commentary.
  • Ensuring project accounts, asset delivery and inventory information are accurate, maintained and reconciled.
  • Reviewing business cases, financial accounting returns and finance processes.
  • Ensuring strong financial governance, compliance, Value for Money and affordability.
  • Providing financial assurance and concurrence within delegated authority.
  • Developing cost models to support industry bids and financial approvals.
  • Developing recharging models for Digital Services.
  • Working with Service Groups to develop and validate financial management information.
  • Coordinating indirect billing and financial journals.
  • Completing monthly reconciliations of recharging activity and supporting forecast reviews.
  • Managing resources effectively and ensuring Value for Money.

Essential

  • Qualified Accountant, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or ACA.
  • FCF2 Financial Governance, Level 2.
  • FCF4 In-Year Financial Management, Level 3.
  • Strong financial planning, budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • Experience of financial governance and assurance.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple teams.

Government finance experience and the following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • FCF1 Understanding the Principles of Government Finance, Level 3.
  • FCF3 Financial Planning, Level 2.
  • FCF6 Investment Appraisals, Level 3.
