Role Purpose
Morson are partnering with a leading provider of solar panel and battery storage solutions, recently acquired, to recruit an Accounts Assistant on an interim basis through to the end of the year. This role will support the day-to-day finance operation, with a particular focus on payroll administration, accounts payable, reconciliations, and transactional finance duties. Working within a busy and fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll: Gather and collate all payroll information for submission to the external payroll provider. Review and reconcile monthly payroll information to ensure accuracy. Check employee tax codes via the GOV.UK portal as a secondary control alongside the payroll provider. Support payroll-related administration and employee queries where required.
- Accounts Payable & Finance Administration: Work closely with another team member to process invoices for subcontractors and scaffolders. Process daily bank transactions into the finance system. Prepare and complete weekly payment runs. Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Support with general accounts administration and other day-to-day finance team activities.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous payroll administration experience is essential.
- Previous accounts or finance administration experience is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator with a proactive approach to work.
- Experience using finance systems is advantageous.
- Experience with Kashflow would be beneficial, although this is not essential.
