Contract: Business Analyst

Rate: Up to £600 per day

Duration: Immediate Start – March 2027

Location: Chesterfield (1–2 days per week onsite minimum). Please note there may also be occasional face‑to‑face meetings in London (approximately once per month). Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered, and contractors will be expected to fund their own travel to and from site locations. Flexibility around start and finish times on travel days is available.

Overview

We are seeking experienced Business Analysts to join a large‑scale business transformation programme supporting a Service Catalogue workstream. This workstream focuses on reviewing, documenting and improving a broad range of operational services delivered across a nationwide network. The successful candidate will play a key role in understanding current ways of working, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and helping to define future‑state operational models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and document current‑state (as‑is) operational processes and services.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops and operational observations to gather business requirements and process information.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, duplication and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce future‑state (to‑be) process models and recommendations.
  • Support business process re‑engineering initiatives across multiple operational areas.
  • Work closely with operational teams, programme stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with other Business Analysts across the programme to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Identify dependencies and overlaps with other in‑flight change initiatives.
  • Produce high‑quality business analysis artefacts including process maps, requirements documentation, gap analyses, impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, user journeys and operational workflows.
  • Support governance activities and contribute to programme‑wide business analysis standards.

Essential Experience

  • Strong Business Analysis experience within large‑scale transformation programmes.
  • Proven experience documenting, analysing and improving operational processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Strong process mapping and requirements elicitation experience.
  • Ability to operate within complex, multi‑workstream programme environments.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team of Business Analysts.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with both operational and senior stakeholders.

Highly Desirable Experience

  • Business Process Re‑engineering (BPR/BPRE) experience.
  • Operational transformation or operational excellence experience.
  • Lean process improvement methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent).
  • Experience within large, customer‑facing operational environments.
  • Experience conducting operational observations and process discovery activities.
  • Exposure to service catalogue, operating model or service management initiatives.
