We’re looking for an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to lead a small laboratory team, drive operational excellence and ensure the delivery of high-quality analytical services that support manufacturing operations. If you enjoy developing teams, improving processes and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing laboratory team.
- Planning workloads, allocating resources and ensuring laboratory activities meet business priorities.
- Maintaining compliance with health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Providing technical leadership in method development, validation, laboratory investigations and process optimisation.
- Monitoring laboratory performance through KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting internal and external audits and managing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Managing laboratory expenditure and approving purchase orders in line with company procedures.
- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external testing providers.
- Deputising for the UK Laboratory Manager when required.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A HNC, HND or Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Experience supervising or leading teams within a commercial or industrial laboratory.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems and accredited environments, including ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025.
- Experience managing laboratory operations, workloads and priorities.
- Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and change management.
- Good commercial awareness with a focus on efficiency and value.
- The ability to build effective relationships across multiple departments.
