Overview

As Principal C&I Engineer you will provide technical leadership for large capital programmes, guiding FEED and design development to Urenco standards. You will lead a team, ensure safe and compliant C&I solutions, and act as the intelligent customer for suppliers. The role sits in Government Services, connecting site teams with Group stakeholders to deliver complex projects. You will shape engineering processes, promote safety and continuous improvement, and enable delivery within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of C&I engineers and senior engineers
  • Develop and deliver FEED packages (Conceptual and Basic Design) aligned with standards and customer requirements
  • Provide technical guidance throughout design development and oversee supplier outputs
  • Support project execution, review design deviations/concessions, and supervise FAT/SAT activities
  • Maintain design intent across the project lifecycle
  • Lead, develop, and mentor engineers to sustain technical excellence
  • Support SQEP capability development and engineering process improvements
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and support modern engineering and automation solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and design assurance processes

Key requirements

  • Experience leading engineering teams on major plant or infrastructure projects
  • Proven FEED, design development, and project delivery experience in regulated environments
  • Demonstrable expertise in Control & Instrumentation Engineering
  • Strong understanding of design management and regulatory compliance
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
