Overview
As Energy & Power Director you will lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary programmes across the power and energy sector, driving performance, growth and client relationships. You will shape major infrastructure initiatives that support the UK’s energy transition and net-zero ambitions. In this senior role you’ll lead cross-functional teams, manage commercial outcomes, and partner with key stakeholders to secure opportunities and deliver value. This is a high-impact role with autonomy to shape a growing business area.

Responsibilities
- Ensure successful delivery of multiple complex design-and-build projects.
- Lead and develop a team of project managers, engineers and specialists.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle from design and planning to delivery and handover.
- Manage portfolio profitability, commercial performance and risk.
- Act as senior client interface, nurturing long-term relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and framework obligations.
- Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and business growth.
- Support business development, including tendering and pursuing new opportunities.
Key requirements
- Senior leadership experience in a utility contracting, infrastructure or engineering environment.
- P&L responsibility experience exceeding 5m.
- Strong commercial, contractual and tendering expertise.
- Experience managing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contracts.
- Budget management, estimating and financial control experience.
- Strong stakeholder and customer relationship management skills.
- Demonstrable success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience in the Power & Energy sector.
- NEC4 Project Management accreditation.
- Engineering qualifications (e.g., degree, HNC/ONC) or equivalent.
