Overview

In this role you will develop electrical engineering expertise within a multidisciplinary design team delivering EICA solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure. You will contribute across the full project lifecycle, from concept to construction, collaborating with other engineers to deliver buildable, compliant designs. The role offers exposure to major projects that serve communities and protect the environment, with a clear path to grow technical and leadership capabilities. You will be supported by senior peers, contributing to feasibility studies, tender inputs and site surveys while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior and Principal Engineers in delivering high-quality EICA designs within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop practical electrical solutions from concept through detailed design
  • Produce electrical drawings, calculations, schedules, specifications and reports
  • Conduct site visits and asset surveys to capture design requirements
  • Prepare design packages for construction (MCC specs, cable and instrumentation schedules, loop diagrams)
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, project planning and contract documentation
  • Collaborate with mechanical, civil and process engineers for integrated design
  • Support tender bids and project proposals with technical input
  • Assist with project administration and progress tracking
  • Provide guidance to graduates, apprentices and technicians
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements including CDM
  • Support construction and commissioning by resolving technical queries

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering electrical designs in utilities, infrastructure, industrial or process environments
  • Knowledge of EICA systems and their application
  • Understanding of water and wastewater treatment and plant equipment
  • Ability to undertake site surveys and translate asset information into engineering solutions
  • Experience producing electrical drawings, specifications and calculations
  • Familiarity with cable sizing and electrical calculations (e.g., Amtech)
  • Good knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Degree qualified, or working towards, in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
