A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Junior Category Manager to join the team with our prestigious client Marshalls Land Systems at their site in Cambridge, this will be a hybrid role working 2 days at home and 3 days in the office when comfortable with work, initially it is a 6 month contract possible extensions and a possible temp to perm opportunity.
Key requirements:
- Previous experience in purchasing and supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on and proactive approach – someone who picks up tasks, takes ownership and drives them through to completion.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to align suppliers, Production, Engineering, Planning and other internal stakeholders.
- Confident in following up suppliers, chasing actions and resolving delivery, availability and supply issues.
- Good commercial and purchasing understanding, including RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, lead times, supplier management and expediting.
- Comfortable dealing with changing priorities and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Good attention to detail, particularly around parts, quantities, delivery dates and requirements.
- Able to identify issues early, elevate appropriately and keep relevant stakeholders informed.
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel and ERP/MRP systems experience with IFS would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Professional and confident when communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ideally available to start at short notice.
