Business Analyst - Higher Education-Research- Post-Award Services Transformation
Business Analyst with Higher education experience ne, ideally around research process transformation and improvement, is required for our leading Russell Group London University client.
The Business Analyst will focus on improving the processes, systems and services supporting research administration after external funding has been secured.
The Business Analyst will work across Finance, Research & Innovation Services, IT and wider university stakeholders, helping to understand current processes, identify pain points and design improved ways of working.

Essential Experience
- Strong experience working as a Business Analyst within a project/change environment.
- Strong business process transformation experience
- Extensive experience within higher education, ideally within research process transformation and improvement.
- BA experience across process analysis, requirements and stakeholder engagement. Higher Education experience would be particularly useful, especially around Research, Finance or Information Services.
- Experience delivering IT-enabled business change
- Strong business process modelling and requirements elicitation skills
- Experience facilitating workshops and stakeholder interviews
- Evidence of applying different analysis approaches relevant to the particular initiative and the business need
- Ability to analyse complex business problems and translate them into practical solutions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

Desirable
- Experience in working within a similar Higher Education institution or within an Information Services division, preferable knowledge of the Higher Education Business and Community Interactions (HEBCI) survey

Key responsibilities
- Map and document end-to-end 'as-is' business processes
- Identify process inefficiencies, pain points, risks and improvement opportunities
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews and workshops
- Develop 'to-be' processes and target operating models- Elicit, validate and document business requirements.
- Produce solutions options papers, recommendations and analysis
- Consider the impact of changes across people, process, policy, data and technology
- Support a longer-term transformation business case and service redesign
- Work across areas including research partner payments, research-funded staff processes, digital timesheets and management information/dashboarding
3 month initial contract £450-£500pday inside IR35- Hybrid working-102 days per week on site in central London
