Overview
As Supplier Quality & Inspection Manager, you will lead a multi‑disciplinary team delivering supplier development, qualification, and risk‑based surveillance for a major nuclear‑construction programme. You will ensure compliance with ISO 19443, ISO 9001 and nuclear license requirements while coordinating with QMLs, engineering, and supplier teams. The role focuses on strengthening quality from supplier qualification through on‑site performance and inspection outcomes. You will shape a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement across programmes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a multi‑disciplinary SQEP team including inspectors and supplier development specialists.
- Plan and deliver risk‑based surveillance programmes aligned to project milestones and nuclear safety requirements.
- Oversee inspection activities, ensure timely reporting, and maintain traceability of surveillance evidence.
- Manage data systems and dashboards to meet reporting and audit traceability needs.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments against ISO standards and project requirements.
- Drive supplier development interventions focusing on welding, NDT, and other key processes.
- Maintain supplier performance scorecards and oversee non‑conformance remediation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 19443, IAEA GS‑R Part 2, ISO 9001 and nuclear site license conditions; oversee third‑party inspection bodies.
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in nuclear or high‑hazard industries with manufacturing quality, inspection, or supplier development responsibility.
- Deep knowledge of ISO 19443, ISO 9001, IAEA GS‑R Part 2 and nuclear license compliance.
- Awareness of welding, NDT, manufacturing process control and supplier assessment.
- Proven track record leading SQEP technical teams in complex projects.
- Commercial acumen to model cost of quality for activities and justify investments.
- Experience interfacing with regulators, inspection bodies and senior project leadership.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
