I'm working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a permanent Project Quantity Surveyor opportunity in Scarborough. The business has a strong pipeline of complex construction projects across Yorkshire, with a particular focus on healthcare and public-sector schemes. This is a position offering genuine commercial ownership, alongside the opportunity to develop your career within a business that has a strong track record of investing in and progressing its people.

The role

  • Managing the commercial performance of live construction projects
  • Subcontract procurement and tendering
  • Cost control, forecasting and CVR reporting
  • Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
  • Managing variations, change and commercial risk
  • Subcontract and main contract administration
  • Working closely with the project delivery team to maximise commercial performance

What we are looking for

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management
  • Experience managing procurement, subcontractors, valuations and final accounts
  • Ideally, experience across healthcare, hospitals or other complex public-sector projects
  • Education, BTR/residential, prisons or similar building-sector experience will also be considered
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
  • No infrastructure/civils background
  • Housebuilding-only experience will not be suitable
  • Full UK driving licence
