Requirements
- Strong experience designing, configuring, and supporting network virtualisation platforms such as NSX or similar
- Ability to balance hands‑on engineering with technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities
- Confidence to take ownership of solutions and represent networking in technical discussions
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, the OSI model, and routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, Qo S, VPNs, and VLANs
- Network virtualisation experience with NSX‑T, including design, configuration, and support of NSX‑based networking environments
- Software‑defined networking experience, including logical switching, routing, and micro‑segmentation
- Experience integrating NSX networking within virtualised and platform environments such as VCF
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco or equivalent multi‑vendor network equipment
- Knowledge of network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and segmentation
- Familiarity with virtualisation and cloud networking concepts
- Experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools
- Understanding of ITIL and service management frameworks
- Experience delivering within secure, enterprise, or defence environments
- Desirable: VMware NSX‑T deep expertise and certification or equivalent experience
- Desirable: VCF networking integration, including v Sphere, v SAN, and Aria Suite
- Desirable: Overlay and underlay network design concepts
- Desirable: Automation of network configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or APIs
- Desirable: Integration with security tooling such as SIEM and SOC platforms
- Desirable: Cloud networking experience with AWS, Azure, and hybrid connectivity
- Desirable: Experience working in highly secure or regulated environments
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support network virtualisation solutions such as VMware NSX within secure and enterprise environments
- Take ownership of engineering delivery for one or more work packages, including planning, estimation, execution, and reporting
- Develop and review high‑level and low‑level network designs and technical documentation
- Integrate and test network components, ensuring compliance with performance and security requirements
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical leadership to Network Engineers and Technicians
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, and customers to ensure solutions meet requirements
