Permanent Location: Crawley, West Sussex

Salary: up to Β£65k

We seek an Electrical Engineer to work in our aircraft simulation business based in Crawley. You will be on site 4 days per week with one day working from home.

Role Responsibilities

  • Install, wire and terminate electrical systems within aircraft simulators and associated facilities.
  • Carry out electrical installation work similar to domestic and commercial installations, including:
    • Lighting and lighting controls
    • Socket outlets and fused connection units
    • Switches and isolators
    • Distribution boards and consumer-unit-style equipment
    • Power supplies and local distribution
    • Cable containment, trunking, conduit and cable management
    • Earthing and bonding
  • Install and connect single-phase and, where required, three-phase electrical supplies.
  • Wire simulator equipment, control panels, cabinets and ancillary systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and installation documentation.
  • Manufacture and modify wiring looms, panels and electrical assemblies where required.
  • Carry out electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate test equipment and systematic fault-finding techniques.
  • Ensure installations are safe, reliable, neat and professionally finished.
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, electronics and simulator engineers during system installation and integration.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of simulator systems at customer sites, potentially within the UK and overseas.
  • Carry out modifications and remedial work to existing simulator installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work, testing and modifications.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant UK legislation, company procedures and applicable electrical standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, cable management and workmanship.
  • Support the engineering team with general electrical and technical problem-solving.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualified and experienced Electrician / Electrical Engineer.
  • Demonstrable experience carrying out electrical installation work.
  • Good practical understanding of domestic and commercial electrical installations.
  • BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 β€” IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition.
  • Good working knowledge of current 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Competent in cable termination, containment, routing and cable management.
  • Experience with electrical testing and fault-finding.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment safely and correctly.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety, isolation and risk assessment.
