This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects, contributing directly to the nation's Net Zero ambitions while working at the forefront of nuclear new build delivery.
Following the success of Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C represents the next phase in the UK's nuclear programme. Now in construction, the project will ultimately provide reliable, low-carbon energy to millions of homes for decades to come.
As a Quality Management Lead, you will sit within the Project Delivery Organisation (PDO) Quality Team and be deployed across key programme areas. You'll act as the single point of contact for all quality-related matters within your assigned supply chain portfolio, ensuring that quality requirements are understood, implemented, and consistently delivered throughout the full project lifecycle.
This is a highly visible role, offering the opportunity to operate as an 'Intelligent Customer', ensuring that suppliers meet contractual quality expectations while embedding best practice drawn from major projects such as HPC.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for driving quality performance across suppliers and contractors, ensuring robust QA/QC processes are in place and effectively implemented. Your core duties will include:
- Reviewing and accepting Contractor Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs) and monitoring compliance
- Developing and implementing Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs) across contracts
- Leading supplier audits, identifying gaps, and ensuring effective close-out of findings
- Overseeing inspection and test plans (ITPs), ensuring appropriate witness and hold points are established
- Coordinating manufacturing and construction surveillance activities in line with project risk profiles
- Acting as the focal point for Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) strategy, review, and delivery
- Supporting the resolution of non-conformances and driving corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Leading the review and acceptance of key project documentation, including End of Manufacturing and Construction reports
- Producing and maintaining quality documentation, procedures, and specifications
You will work closely with internal functions including commercial, supply chain, engineering, and external inspection bodies to ensure a right-first-time (RFT) culture is embedded across the project.
What We're Looking ForWe're keen to speak with experienced quality professionals who bring a strong track record in major project environments, ideally within nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Essential experience and skills:- Demonstrable experience in quality management across the full project lifecycle (design through to commissioning)
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles within complex, contract-driven environments
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 19443 and IAEA frameworks
- Proven experience in supplier engagement, audits, and surveillance activities
- Ability to analyse data, produce reports, and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging across multidisciplinary teams
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering/science or a related discipline
- Nuclear new build experience or knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions
- IRCA Lead Auditor certification or working towards Chartered Quality Institute membership
- Familiarity with welding, NDT/NDE, or pressure/nuclear codes
- Exposure to regulators such as the ONR
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
This is more than just a role-it's an opportunity to be part of a nationally significant programme that will shape the UK's energy future. You'll be working in a collaborative, high-performing environment where quality is critical to success and where your expertise will directly influence project outcomes.
If you're looking to take the next step in your quality career within a complex, high-profile project, we'd be keen to hear from you.
