Interim Head of Supply Chain Finance 6 Month Contract
As the appointed and approved supplier, we are supporting a highly successful international business operating a complex, multi-country supply chain network across Europe in the appointment of an experienced Interim Head of Supply Chain Finance. This is a critical leadership assignment within a large-scale operation responsible for approximately £900m of annual supply chain expenditure, spanning transportation, logistics, operational processing facilities, procurement and asset management activities across multiple European markets.
The business operates within a highly matrixed environment, partnering with country leadership teams whilst supporting a central European function responsible for planning, forecasting, operational performance and strategic initiatives. Reporting into a senior European finance leader, you will provide leadership to an established Supply Chain Finance team during a period of organisational change, ensuring continuity of performance whilst supporting the ongoing evolution of the function.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Finance Business Partners supporting a complex European supply chain operation
- Partner with senior operational stakeholders across logistics, transportation and operational processing functions
- Support monthly performance reviews and business planning cycles
- Challenge and improve forecasting accuracy across multiple cost drivers and business units
- Evaluate investment proposals and business cases
- Support operational improvement and procurement initiatives
- Translate complex operational data into meaningful financial insight and decision support
- Provide leadership and stability during a period of organisational change
- Work closely with key stakeholder teams across multiple European markets
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a commercially focused finance leader with significant experience supporting large-scale operational or supply chain environments. You will have gained this experience from logistics, distribution, supply chain, manufacturing, FMCG or Retail. Logistics experience will be given preference. You will ideally bring:
- Proven leadership of Finance Business Partnering teams
- Experience within large, complex and multi-site organisations
- Strong forecasting and planning expertise
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience operating within matrix structures
- A track record of partnering with operational leadership teams
- Professional qualification (CIMA, ACA or ACCA)
This role will particularly suit candidates who enjoy the challenge of operational finance, business partnering and driving performance within complex supply chain environments. The Day rate is open to discussion, working pattern is of a hybrid nature.
