Morson Edge are working with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy to recruit an experienced Design Manager to join their Design & Advanced Technology team, delivering high-profile water infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping major infrastructure programmes, leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering innovative solutions across the full project lifecycle.
The Role:
- You will be responsible for leading and coordinating design delivery across complex water sector projects, ensuring high-quality technical outputs while managing programme, cost, and stakeholder expectations.
- Working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, you will support both project delivery and bid activity, contributing to major UK infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams across design delivery
- Oversee and review technical deliverables including reports, drawings, and calculations
- Ensure outputs align with project scope, programme, budget, and quality standards
- Drive technical input across complex design packages and project stages
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Support bid proposals and contribute to winning new work
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
- Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and CDM regulations
About You:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) preferred
- Strong experience managing design delivery within a consultancy environment
- Proven background in the water sector (essential)
- Good understanding of design standards, NEC contracts, and regulatory requirements
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work with minimal supervision
