Reporting to the Project Commercial Lead, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of a major project, ensuring robust commercial governance while driving financial performance, protecting contractual entitlement and supporting successful project delivery. You'll become a trusted commercial advisor to senior project stakeholders, helping to identify opportunities, manage risk and maximise value throughout the project lifecycle. Commercial Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day commercial management of a major infrastructure project.
- Provide commercial leadership to the project delivery team, ensuring best practice and governance are maintained.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies that support successful project delivery.
- Provide clear commercial advice to senior management to support key business decisions.
- Ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial Management & Reporting
- Lead monthly commercial reporting including CVRs, cost forecasting, margin reporting and financial performance.
- Prepare and manage applications for payment and commercial submissions.
- Monitor project expenditure, forecast final accounts and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
Contract & Supply Chain Management
- Lead the commercial management of subcontractors from procurement through to final account.
- Develop subcontract strategies aligned to project objectives.
Risk & Opportunity Management
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks.
- Maximise commercial opportunities across the project.
- Drive improvements in cash flow, profitability and project performance.
- Lead, mentor and develop members of the commercial team.
You'll be an experienced Commercial professional who enjoys working in complex project environments and thrives on balancing commercial performance with collaborative project delivery. Significant experience managing commercial functions on large, complex infrastructure or construction projects. Strong knowledge of NEC3, NEC4, JCT or similar forms of contract. Proven experience in cost management, forecasting, commercial reporting and financial governance. Experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial administration. Strong leadership skills with experience developing and managing commercial teams. Eligible to obtain, or already hold, the appropriate security clearance. Experience within nuclear, defence, utilities, rail, energy or other highly regulated sectors.
