- Permanent Night Shift (on completion of up to 1 month training)
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS Screening (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check (i.e. UK DBS) and Drugs Screening.
The Grinder role involves precision grinding of aerospace components in line with manufacturing instructions, specifications, and customer/regulatory requirements. The position includes internal and external grinding using MDI CNC machinery, surface and thread grinding, and honing, working within a lean, team-based manufacturing environment to meet delivery targets.
The Grinder is responsible for Operator Control of Quality (OCQ), ensuring all work meets customer quality standards, accurately interpreting engineering drawings, and following all process documentation. A strong focus on health and safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to company procedures is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience with aerospace grinding tolerances and finishes, be proficient in using precision measuring equipment, and understand the safety-critical nature of aerospace work. PC literacy, teamwork, flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement are key attributes.
Engineering apprenticeship and machining experience are desirable, with full training provided where required. This will be 34.5 hours a week starting at 7am-3:30pm for 1 month, then after completed training you will be on nights for the remainder of your contract. This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of Export Control Licenses and Technical Assistant Agreements.
