Fabricator / Welder
Location: Walsall, WS1 4AG
Rate: £17.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Until 27th November 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a busy fabrication workshop in Walsall.
This role involves the manufacture of medium to heavy fabricated steel structures, working from engineering drawings and company-controlled documentation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting workshop operations while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity.
Responsibilities
Manufacture medium and heavy fabricated structures from engineering drawings.
Cut, drill, tack and weld materials to required specifications and tolerances.
Complete fabrication work in line with company procedures and quality standards.
Maintain material traceability and accurately record stock usage.
Complete workshop checklists and production documentation.
Assist with goods-in activities, checking deliveries and materials received.
Operate overhead cranes safely within the workshop environment.
Support site installation activities when required.
Package finished products ready for delivery.
Contribute to stock audits and annual stock checks.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards.
Work closely with the fabrication team and management to deliver work within agreed timescales.
Requirements
Essential
Experience in medium to heavy fabrication and welding.
NVQ in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
CSCS Card.
Experience operating an overhead crane.
Qualified and experienced in plasma and oxy-cutting equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
Team player with a proactive approach to work.
Desirable
Previous site installation experience.
Forklift licence.
Full UK Driving Licence.
What Youll Receive
£17.00 per hour.

Long-term contract through to November 2026.
