We're supporting a growing organisation to appoint an experienced Compensation & Benefits Manager to take ownership of its reward agenda. This is a broad, hands-on role covering everything from job evaluation and salary benchmarking through to annual pay reviews, incentive arrangements, benefits and reward analytics. You'll work closely with senior People, Finance and business stakeholders, providing expert guidance on pay decisions and helping ensure that reward practices are consistent, competitive and commercially sound. The role is part-time at 21 hours per week, with flexibility around how the working week is structured. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Lead the organisation's job evaluation and grading framework, providing expert advice on job levels, salary positioning and reward implications for new, amended and existing roles. Develop and maintain competitive salary structures through market benchmarking and analysis, ensuring pay ranges support the organisation's talent strategy and remain aligned with relevant external markets. Lead the annual pay review process from planning through to implementation, developing pay review models, supporting budget setting, providing guidance to managers and analysing outcomes to inform senior stakeholder decisions. Oversee the organisation's bonus and incentive arrangements, ensuring effective governance, timely delivery, accurate system implementation and alignment with business objectives. Lead the development and ongoing review of the organisation's benefits offering, including pensions, health, wellbeing and other employee benefits, balancing market competitiveness, employee needs and cost effectiveness. Provide insightful reward analytics and management information to support strategic decision-making, including salary positioning, reward costs, benchmarking, pay outcomes, gender pay gap and equal pay analysis. Partner closely with Finance and senior stakeholders on reward budgets, forecasting and cost analysis, while providing practical advice on compensation, offers, promotions and grading decisions and ensuring robust reward policies, processes and governance are maintained. About you Significant experience in
compensation, benefits, reward or job evaluation . Practical experience applying a recognised job evaluation methodology. Strong experience of salary benchmarking and developing or maintaining pay structures. Experience managing an annual salary review and/or bonus process. Strong Excel and analytical capability, with confidence working with compensation data and building reward models. Good understanding of UK legislation relating to pay, equal pay, minimum wage and gender pay reporting. Experience working with an HRIS or people system to manage reward data. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage a significant reward agenda within a part-time working pattern.
