Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £70,000 to £85,000 pa (DOE) & Bonus, Excellent Benefits incl £7k car allowance
Morson are recruiting for a Financial Services, General Ledger Manager, to join a leading UK & Ireland organisation.
This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for the General Ledger function across the UK&I division. You will oversee financial governance, balance sheet control, financial reporting and the month-end close process, while leading improvements across Financial Services.
You will act as a senior advisor to the Director of Financial Services and play a key role in improving processes, systems and ways of working.
Key Accountabilities of the General Ledger Manager:
- Lead the UK&I General Ledger function and manage a team of approximately 5-12 people.
- Own balance sheet integrity across multiple operating companies.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, certification and financial controls.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain strong financial governance, controls, risk management and compliance.
- Drive standardisation and consistency across General Ledger processes.
- Identify process issues and deliver improvements across the end-to-end finance function.
- Lead automation, analytics and technology improvements.
- Manage resource planning, capacity and team development.
- Support internal and external audit activity.
- Provide senior management with financial trends, analysis and reporting.
- Build strong relationships with finance, operational and external stakeholders.
- Act as a Centre of Excellence for General Ledger processes and systems.
Essential:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Strong Record-to-Report and General Ledger experience.
- Proven month-end close and financial reporting experience.
- Strong balance sheet management experience.
- Experience leading teams and managing resources.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance.
- Proven experience delivering process improvement and automation.
- Strong data, analytical and systems capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience within construction, engineering, utilities or another large organisation.
Desirable:
- Experience working with a large ERP system.
- SAP or COINS experience would be advantageous.
- Experience using data and analytics to improve financial reporting and processes.
- Experience leading significant change or transformation programmes.
