Rate: £550 - £650 p/d

Location: Remote + ad-hoc attendance in Warwick or Scotland office

Duration: 6 months +

Our client is a leading UK technology and infrastructure specialist, delivering mission-critical communications and digital systems across rail, transport, utilities and public services.

Responsibilities:

  • Commercial leadership of the Network Infrastructure Portfolio
  • Cost control, forecasting, AFC management, monthly cost reporting and cashflow forecasting
  • Managing change control, Early Warnings and variations via CEMAR, including pricing and agreeing client changes
  • Supporting efficiency targets across CP7
  • Developing contracting and packaging strategies
  • Managing subcontract procurement, valuations, payments and final accounts
  • Supporting portfolio risk and opportunity management
  • Expanding into other areas of the Safety & Security Portfolio, leading on SISS, Southern Infrastructure Delivery and Ops Comms projects
  • Preparing, overseeing and ensuring monthly client applications for payment are issued in accordance with the contract and certified in a timely manner
  • Administration of contracts in collaboration with the commercial team
  • Reporting monthly on cost/value reconciliation and supporting monthly contract reviews with senior management
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with the client
  • Supporting the Project Manager in the preparation of delay claims and associated quantum
  • Establishing and maintaining administration procedures for the supporting Quantity Surveying team

Qualifications/experience:

  • Demonstrable Quantity Surveying experience (10 years' +) working either for a client, contractor or subcontractor covering a portfolio of complex projects
  • Experience within the construction industry is preferred
  • Strong post-contract Quantity surveying experience
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work under pressure and use initiative
  • Working knowledge of forms of designated business sector contract (NEC)
  • Experience of web-based contract administration tools – CEMAR
