General Operatives – Sandilands Tunnel Works
We are currently seeking General Operatives to support upcoming works at Sandilands Tunnel during a major blockade period.
We are looking for reliable and experienced General Operatives to assist with a range of civil engineering, tunnel and general site activities.
Project Details
- Location: Sandilands Tunnel
- Blockade period: 07:00 on 24 October 2026 to 23:59 on 4 November 2026
- Working pattern: 24/7 throughout the blockade
- Shift pattern: 12-hour shifts
- Shift times: 07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00
- Requirement: General Operatives
- Certification: Valid Pink Ticket required for the tram network
Scope of Works
The successful candidates will be involved in a variety of site activities, including:
- Waterproofing works
- UTX construction
- Installation of GRP walkways
- Guttering and downpipe installation
- General civils works
- Vegetation clearance
- Assisting with brickwork repairs and pointing
- Material movement and site clearance
- General labouring and supporting skilled trades
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
Requirements
- Previous experience as a General Operative on construction, civil engineering, rail or tram projects
- Valid Pink Ticket for the tram network
- Good understanding of site health and safety requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights
- Ability to work throughout the full blockade period
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team
