On behalf of TKMS ATLAS UK, Morson International is recruiting a Research Manager to play a key role in identifying, shaping and winning science & technology (S&T), research and early system concept opportunities within the Underwater Battlespace (UWB). This is a highly visible role within the Research & Innovation Division, working closely with MOD stakeholders, Dstl, Navy Command, scientists, engineers and industry partners to develop future underwater capability and ensure research outputs are exploitable into real-world products and front-line capability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Identifying, qualifying and winning S&T, research and early concept opportunities in the UWB
- Acting as a key interface with Dstl and early adopters / end users
- Developing strong relationships with customers, suppliers and partners across the UWB
- Leading and supporting bid and capture activity through to successful award
- Working with scientists and engineers to shape compelling, innovative solutions
- Collaborating across ATLAS UK to ensure research outputs transition into products and operational capability
- Supporting delivery of the Research & Innovation Division's strategy and financial targets
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in a relevant STEM discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
- Strong customer-focused and collaborative approach
Desirable / Developable Experience:
- Strong understanding of the Underwater Battlespace (UWB)
- Experience working with Navy Command and the Develop Directorate
- Knowledge of defence research and MOD structures
- Technical awareness of underwater systems, including:
- Underwater acoustics
- Underwater sensing (wet-end to dry-end)
- Systems of systems and operational exploitation
Training and development will be provided where required.
