An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist to join a growing Design & Technical team within a successful residential development business. Working on a diverse portfolio of residential schemes ranging from bespoke developments of 5-9 homes through to large-scale projects of 100 units, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in both the creative and technical aspects of residential development. While a range of standard house types are utilised, each site is considered individually, with many smaller, high-end developments featuring bespoke architectural designs. As all architectural services are delivered in-house, this position provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure across the full development lifecycle, from site acquisition and planning through to construction and handover. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and a multidisciplinary team, developing expertise in both architecture and technical management. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of feasibility layouts, house type development and standard details.
- Prepare and manage drawings and documentation for planning application submissions.
- Prepare and manage drawings and documentation for Building Control applications, including liaison with Building Control bodies.
- Coordinate and manage correspondence with consultants and review submitted information.
- Review manufacturer and subcontractor technical information.
- Collate, organise and track project documentation and drawings.
- Manage CDM requirements and responsibilities throughout the design stage.
- Monitor and manage design programmes and project timelines.
- Review utility requirements, existing services and coordinate quotations for new connections.
- Respond to site queries and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Assist with quantity take-offs and tender information.
- Contribute to interior specifications and product selections.
- Support the appraisal and review of potential development sites.
Requirements
- Architectural qualification, degree, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 10 years experience working on multi-unit residential developments through RIBA Stages 3-5.
- Proficiency in CAD software is essential; experience with Archicad and/or 3D modelling software would be advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience producing planning and Building Control drawing packages.
- Experience preparing detailed technical drawings and construction information.
- Ability to review consultant information and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience liaising with consultants, stakeholders and statutory bodies.
- Knowledge of Sectional Agreements would be beneficial but is not essential.
