Our client Dounreay are currently looking for a Technical writer/Technical Author to join their team based in Thurso on a contract basis initially, Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced Technical Author/Writer with a relevant background. A temporary vacancy exists within Waste Operations & Logistics for a Technical Writer based within D1208 supporting the adoption of a revised facility Safety Case following a licence condition review. This is a highly visible role where your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining compliance, enhancing safety standards, and ensuring critical documentation is accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose.
What youll be doing:
In this role, you will take ownership of updating and improving key facility documentation, ensuring alignment with revised safety requirements and implementation plans. Acting as a central point of expertise, you will collaborate with stakeholders, validate documentation against operations, and deliver high-quality outputs within defined timescales. Your work will be essential in ensuring that safety measures are clearly communicated and consistently applied across the facility.
β’ Be the focal point for the revision and update of facility written instructions in line with the revised Safety Case
β’ Implement and manage document changes, ensuring compliance with (K)SRE, (K)SMR and OAs requirements
β’ Conduct quality and compliance checks, working closely with stakeholders and carrying out plant walkdowns
