We are seeking a Technical Project Architect or Architectural Technologist to join our clients multidisciplinary Manchester team delivering large-scale industrial and nuclear infrastructure projects. This role will support the architectural design and technical delivery of a nuclear power plant facility within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in project coordination, BIM integration, technical detailing, and design development across RIBA Stages 2-4. The position would suit an experienced Architect or Technologist with a strong technical background in industrial, infrastructure, energy, defence, manufacturing, process, or complex building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver architectural and technical design packages from concept through detailed design stages.
- Produce coordinated technical information for large-scale industrial facilities.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including Structural Engineers, Building Services Engineers, Process Engineers, Interior Designers, and BIM/Digital teams.
- Lead or support BIM coordination activities including model federation, clash detection, interface management, and coordination reporting.
- Develop detailed design solutions aligned with performance, production, and regulatory requirements.
- Produce and review technical drawings, Revit models, specifications, material selections, and NBS documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, industry standards, and BIM Level 2 requirements.
- Support project delivery within demanding programme deadlines.
- Participate in technical reviews, coordination workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
Required Skills & Experience:
Essential
- ARB registered Architect or CIAT member.
- Experience delivering complex industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical design and detailing capability.
- Experience across RIBA Stages 2-4.
- Excellent Revit capability.
- BIM Level 2 delivery experience.
- Experience using Navisworks, model coordination, clash detection, and federated BIM models.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
Desirable
- Nuclear sector experience.
- Experience within defence, energy, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, process plant, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Existing SC Clearance.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of technical specifications and NBS software.
