Systems Engineering Lead (Change & Configuration Lead) required to work for Principal Contractor JV on the High Speed Rail London Tunnels Programme. 12 Month Contract Initially - Inside IRΒ£5 based at Euston, London - Hybrid Working Arrangements, 3 Days in the Office and 2 Days WFH.

Systems Engineering Lead (Change & Configuration Lead) with experience of managing a team to develop & implement Change & Configuration Plans/Processes. Construction Delivery Project Experience is essential. Project Management, strong stakeholder management, and excellent communication skills are required.

The size and complexity of the project requires particular attention to ensure compliance is maintained following instructed and accepted changes to the various elements of design and construction. This includes considering the impacts on client requirements, technical interfaces, third parties & stakeholders, safety (CDM/CSM), interoperability, and other wider project works.

Role Brief: As the Change and Configuration Management Lead, you will be responsible for managing the change and configuration team, ensuring that the Change and Configuration Plans/Processes are maintained and implemented, as well as fully briefed to the project teams enabling compliant delivery.

  • Review and update the Change and Configuration Management plans/processes, ensuring that they are fully implemented across the project.
  • Manage and develop the Change and Configuration Team, enabling them to implement the Change and Configuration Management plans/processes.
  • Chair and facilitate the running of the Change & Configuration Board to ensure effective review of instructed technical changes for endorsement and implementation, and comprehensive assessment of proposed instruction(s) that may lead to changes.
  • Manage and assess internal and other (non-client) change requests.
  • Ensure all change requests are fully traceable, demonstrating that change has been implemented by the project teams.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Chartered Engineer or significant experience of working at equivalent level in major rail infrastructure/construction projects or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience of the application of configuration/change management processes in major rail infrastructure/construction projects or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment and statutory obligations relating to major rail infrastructure/construction projects or equivalent.
  • Capable of working collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, management, project leadership, clients, sub-contractors, regulatory bodies, and other major stakeholders, credible in building relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • High standard of verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Awareness of the various disciplines involved in delivering major railway projects, their roles and responsibilities.
  • High standard of information management and analytical skills, able to quickly and efficiently seek out the relevant and pertinent points from large volumes of project information.
