We're looking for an Application Operations Engineer to join a support team responsible for a critical operational platform used by specialist users across a national organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to support a modern platform as it continues to evolve, helping to onboard new products, maintain operational services and ensure users have access to the tools and data they need.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain products within the platform.
- Support the introduction and onboarding of new products and services.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Service Delivery Managers and other stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, problems and service issues.
- Implement and manage changes through established governance processes.
- Reconfigure products and services as operational requirements evolve.
- Support testing, validation and acceptance of new functionality.
- Perform routine administration, maintenance and support activities.
- Contribute to continual service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure services remain secure, reliable and aligned to business requirements.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in an Application Support, Application Operations or Platform Support role.
- Experience managing Incidents, Problems and Changes in a structured environment.
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tooling.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting business-critical applications.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience carrying out testing and supporting releases into production.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Desirable Experience
- Application, product or template configuration experience.
- Experience with styling, markup or templating technologies such as Typst, LaTeX, CSS, Handlebars.js, Mustache.js, XML or XSLT.
- Experience supporting platforms within Agile or multidisciplinary teams.
- Public sector or operational service environment experience.
