This is a key leadership role within our manufacturing operation, responsible for driving production engineering performance across a busy, bespoke fabrication environment. You will be central to improving how we build complex engineered systems — focusing on efficiency, manufacturability, and continuous improvement across sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and test processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the production engineering function across manufacturing
- Improve workflows, routing, and shop floor efficiency in a bespoke production environment
- Drive design-for-manufacture (DFM) improvements with design engineers
- Work closely with fabrication, assembly, and test teams to resolve production issues
- Lead lean manufacturing and structured continuous improvement activity
- Identify and deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, and lead time
- Support introduction of new products into production
- Ensure compliance with H&S and quality standards across operations
About You
- Engineering background (mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial)
- Proven experience in a fabrication or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing in low/medium volume production
- Hands-on, practical engineering mindset
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication (strong advantage)
