An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a pioneering aerospace programme developing a solar-powered, high-altitude aircraft platform operating in a completely new aerospace domain. This cutting-edge technology enables aircraft to operate continuously in the stratosphere for months at a time, delivering next-generation connectivity and earth observation capabilities.
You will be part of a highly skilled manufacturing team responsible for the assembly, integration and testing of advanced aircraft systems in a precision-driven, quality-focused environment.
The RoleYou will support the manufacture, assembly and test of avionic hardware within a cleanroom, ESD-controlled environment, contributing to both product delivery and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manufacture and assembly of avionic components
- Maintaining accurate build and test records
- Dimensional verification using calibrated equipment and jigs
- Working with avionic assemblies under a microscope to flight-quality standards
- Following and contributing to Health & Safety and quality processes
- Identifying waste and improving efficiency using Lean / 6S principles
- Supporting problem-solving activities and corrective actions
- Providing guidance and mentoring to colleagues where required
- Experience working in cleanroom and ESD-controlled environments
- Strong soldering skills (IPC certification desirable or willingness to obtain)
- Experience using electronic test equipment and following test procedures
- Hands-on experience with avionic hardware and wiring installations
- Ability to work under a microscope to high reliability standards
- Background in aerospace or other highly regulated industries
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Avionics/Engineering, or a completed apprenticeship
- Competitive salary: £41,000 – £45,000
