We are seeking a highly experienced Well Services Supervisor to manage and oversee offshore well intervention, maintenance, and hydraulic workover operations across UK offshore assets. This pivotal role involves supervising offshore contractors, supporting the preparation of intervention programmes and equipment, monitoring well integrity, and ensuring all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with company procedures and UK well regulations. The successful candidate will possess extensive well services and intervention experience, coupled with a valid IWCF Well Control certificate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offshore Operations and Supervision
    • Supervise contractors and service company personnel during offshore well intervention, maintenance, and hydraulic workover operations.
    • Ensure intervention programmes are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with approved procedures.
    • Coordinate activities with platform management and provide clear, concise operational handovers.
    • Prepare daily morning reports and communicate operational progress, challenges, and performance to management.
    • Lead offshore teams and contractors to guarantee effective service delivery and compliance with company standards.
  • Well Integrity and Maintenance
    • Monitor well integrity, including annulus pressures, identified anomalies, and scheduled leak-testing requirements.
    • Coordinate repairs, remedial works, and maintenance activities as necessary.
    • Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to ensure adherence to the Well Integrity Management System.
    • Ensure existing well stock remains compliant with relevant company standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Planning and Technical Support
    • Support onshore planning and preparation of well service and intervention programmes.
    • Assist in the preparation and selection of equipment required for offshore operations.
    • Participate in HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments, and other operational assurance activities.
    • Provide technical input into completion design optimisation, equipment selection, completion running, and testing activities.
    • Identify opportunities to optimise well performance and deliver safe, cost-effective intervention programmes.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance
    • Ensure full compliance with company health, safety, environmental, and security policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Support HSEQ and operational audits as required.
    • Ensure contractors adhere to company procedures and approved working practices.
    • Promote a robust safety culture throughout offshore operations.
    • Adhere to all relevant ethical, legal, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Reporting and Interfaces
    • The Well Services Supervisor will report directly to the Well Services Superintendent and provide technical support to the wider operations team.
    • The role involves regular liaison with platform and offshore management teams, production and well integrity departments, operations support teams, service company engineers, offshore contractors, and specialist vendors.

Qualifications and Certification

  • Valid IWCF Well Control certification
  • Valid offshore survival certification
  • Valid offshore medical certification
  • Relevant industry training and competency in well operations

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • Extensive experience in well services, well intervention, well maintenance, or hydraulic workover operations
  • Proven ability to supervise offshore or onshore operational teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK regulations pertaining to well operations
  • Practical understanding of well integrity management and monitoring
  • Experience in managing contractors and service companies
  • Thorough awareness of health, safety, environmental, and security requirements
  • Effective communication skills with offshore personnel, contractors, and senior management
  • Strong operational reporting, planning, and handover capabilities
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
