Job Role: As part of the Flight Control Systems team, the engineer will assist in planning and performing the appropriate Systems Engineering work to undertake the development of advanced VTOL automatic flight control systems (FCS) for both manned and unmanned platforms. The work will be dependent on the project lifecycle phase and therefore it will require the engineer to have some flexibility and adaptability in the Systems Engineering tasks undertaken. The work will be varied including support to the development of FCS system architectures and the creation of associated requirements for system functions, performance and interfaces. Modelling of FCS System elements and requirements may be required. Participation and support in the integration of FCS designs at both the rig level and within the aircraft may be required. The engineer may support FCS flight testing by helping to develop test plans and working closely with other colleagues to analyse and report the flight test data. The engineer will create and edit a wide range of systems documentation from system specifications to rig and flight test schedules and flight clearance justification reports.
