Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading aerospace organisation to recruit a Subcontract Manager for an initial 12 month contract. There is a pay rate of up to £465 Per Day Umbrella on offer for the successful candidates. There would be a hybrid working arrangement in place with 3 days a week spent on site in Templecombe, Somerset and 2 days a week working from home.

The Sub Contract Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of supplier contracts after signature. This is particularly true for supplier agreements with high expense and/or risk, complex terms and conditions, and change management and risk mitigation requirements. The Sub Contract Manager shall ensure that the supplier fully complies with the commercial, delivery, schedule, cost and performance requirements as defined in the contract. The Sub Contract Manager will require a frequent and close relationship with other project functions and stakeholders, and in particular with Work Package Manager (WPM), Engineering, and Legal & Contracts.
Key Responsibilities and tasks:- Manage Supplier Contract:
- Manage contract between my client and supplier from placement (PVET4) to close out.
- Enforce compliance by the supplier to the contractual terms, deliverables and milestones, in alignment with the Project and my clients requirements for Safety, Quality, Environment, CSR, Project Efficiency and Competitiveness.
- Document and maintain all contractual records.
- Lead direct contractual relationship with the supplier/s, acting as a commercial/contractual point of contact, dealing with all supplier contractual queries, invoice applications, claims, variations or notices.
- Ensure Supplier Contract Coverage: Work with the Category Manager and Legal Department to ensure that all requirements are covered by robust supplier contracts or are being progressed in accordance with my clients procurement process and governance.
- Process and certify invoice applications in accordance with the contract (i.e. comparing invoice against terms and work progress, querying extra work claimed, verifying terms, prices, evidences and approving payment) and ensure payment on time.
- Manage Supplier Claims and Disputes:
- Manage any disputes, back-charges or claims that my client may raise on the supplier or vice versa.
- Receive, assess and negotiate claims, in line with the contract response-time requirements.
- Liaise with Legal and Contracts team to ensure that all claims to be flown up to Customer are identified and communicated.
- Collect and record all relevant cost data/information and contractual records to support claims issues.
- Analyze & report the impact of cost and time claims and drive mitigation action plans.
- Identify, monitor and implement changes to Scope or Contract, and manage the cost/time implications (i.e. governance, amendments, variations, reporting).
- Review Performance Management:
- Ensure appropriate Supplier Relationship Management and Performance Management techniques are used with supplier/s to improve performance, mitigate risk and capture innovation/opportunities.
- Lead ongoing performance review meetings with suppliers, monitoring performance against all obligations & trends.
- Ask any required Performance Improvement Plans with the Supplier/s to resolve operational performance issues.
- Work cross-functionally regularly with other Business functions to collaboratively drive supplier performance.
- Identify Risks/Opportunities/Issues and Escalate them if necessary in collaboration with the project team.
- Monitor Supplier cost, quality and schedule accomplishments against contract requirements in direct link with the project team.
- Provide support to projects, bids and functions: liaise within Procurement function to feed any lessons learned into future bids and projects.
