Skilled Operatives - Carpenters & Bricklayers
We are currently seeking Skilled Operatives to support upcoming works at Sandilands Tunnel during a major blockade period.
We are looking for experienced Carpenters/Joiners (Chippies) and Bricklayers with relevant civil engineering or rail experience.
Project Details Location: Sandilands Tunnel Blockade period: 07:00 on 24 October 2026 to 23:59 on 4 November 2026 Working pattern: 24/7 throughout the blockade Shift pattern: 12-hour shifts Shift times: 07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00 Requirement: Skilled Operatives - Carpenters/Joiners and Bricklayers Certification: Valid Pink Ticket required for the tram network Scope of Works
The successful candidates will be involved in a range of civil engineering and tunnel works, including:
Waterproofing works UTX construction GRP walkway installation Guttering and downpipe installation Brickwork repairs and pointing General civils and remedial works Vegetation clearance and associated site works Carpenter / Joiner - Chippy
We are looking for experienced carpenters/joiners who are confident working on construction and civil engineering projects. Duties may include general carpentry, temporary works, installation works and associated construction activities.
Bricklayer
We are looking for experienced bricklayers with strong skills in brickwork repairs, pointing and remedial works. Experience working in tunnels, rail infrastructure or other challenging civil engineering environments would be advantageous.
Requirements Relevant experience in the required trade Valid Pink Ticket for the tram network Previous rail, tram, tunnel or civil engineering experience preferred Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights Ability to work throughout the full blockade period Strong commitment to safe working practices Relevant trade qualifications/tickets where applicable
