Morson Edge are working with a leading global multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit an Associate Director β Landscape Planning to join their expanding UK Landscape Architecture team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Chartered Landscape Architect to take on a senior leadership role, leading major landscape planning projects across a diverse portfolio including energy, infrastructure, regeneration, residential and defence developments.
Working within one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary environmental and design teams, you will lead projects ranging from Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) through to regional and local developments, collaborating with planners, engineers, environmental specialists and design professionals to deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to combine technical leadership, project management, client development and team mentoring within a highly respected consultancy delivering nationally significant projects. You will play a key role in leading landscape planning commissions, developing client relationships, supporting business growth and mentoring the next generation of landscape professionals, while helping shape the strategic direction of the landscape planning team.
- Lead landscape planning projects across a range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, defence and regeneration
- Prepare and oversee Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA), Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments (TVIA) and supporting evidence documents
- Lead site surveys, landscape analysis and technical assessments
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery
- Manage project programmes, budgets and commercial performance
- Contribute to business development activities, bids and winning new work
- Promote innovation and best practice across landscape planning projects
Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
- Landscape Institute accredited degree in Landscape Architecture
- Extensive experience in landscape planning within a consultancy environment
- Thorough understanding of the UK planning system and landscape planning legislation
- Proven experience managing complex projects, budgets and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong report writing and technical presentation abilities
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)
- Background within energy transition projects including renewables, transmission, storage or nuclear
- Experience within defence, infrastructure or major regeneration projects
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, Civil 3D, Revit or ProjectWise
