Our client Scottish Power renewables are seeking a Senior risk manager for an initial contract role until 31.1.2027. This would be based in London working hybrid.

Main Purpose of the Job

Providing support to the Project in the implementation of the Business standards for Risks & Opportunities Management.

Key Tasks

  • Supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous update of the Project Risk Register.
  • Identifying potential risks (technical, financial, contractual, schedule-related) and assessing their probability and impact.
  • Assisting in qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, including risk scoring and mitigation planning.
  • Coordinating risk review sessions with Package Managers, Project Controls, and other stakeholders.
  • Tracking mitigation actions and ensuring alignment between risk exposure, cost forecasts, and project schedule.
  • Preparing risk-related reports and inputs for monthly project reviews and governance meetings.
  • Lead the delivery of the project’s risk management activities, coordinating with multiple packages and functional teams.

Key Criteria

Essential

  • Knowledge of IT applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, Document Management Systems).
  • Knowledge of Cost Control for large EPC projects.
  • Competence in risk management principles and tools used in major infrastructure or EPC projects.
  • Graduate in Engineering, Business Management degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at various levels of an organisation.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Desirable

  • Experience in Offshore wind projects.
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience using risk management tools (e.g. @Risk).
